Dutch Students Protest Burma

Students and pro-democracy activists gather in Amsterdam to show solidarity with the Burmese people who are still suffering from the Junta's crackdown. Here is more from our reporter :

STORY:
Myo Zan Win, Member of the National League for Democracy, is a refugee from Burma who came to The Netherlands six years ago. He has been imprisoned and tortured by the Burmese Junta.

[Myo Zan Win; Member National League for Democracy]:
"They are a very very stupid government, they've killed many of my friends in Burma."

[Myo Zan Win; Member National League for Democracy]:
"We are trying to get a free Burma, we want democracy in Burma, equal Rights in Burma. We want the political prisoners and our leader to be free (Aung San Suu Kyi)."

Last week the United Nations Security Council formally condemned Burma for its use of violence against Peaceful protestors.

" If you look at the United Nations, at the Security Council,
China has really been trying to stop the actions the United Nations has taken, by using its veto."

The European Union is banning investments and imports of Burmese timber, metals and gems.
