This weekend saw the arrest of a man who is believed to be a key player in the violence directed at Falun Gong practitioners in New York’s Flushing China town over the last few weeks. Here’s the story…
STORY:
Wei Qiu, who was often seen wearing a vest and hard hat with words slandering Falun Gong printed on them, was arrested in Flushing on Saturday as he was handing out anti-Falun Gong flyers to passers by. He was taken to NYPD’s 68th precinct station in Brooklyn.
Wei Qiu is accused of attacking Falun Gong practitioner John Yu with a metal steering wheel lock on June 15th.
Qiu has been frequently seen at the scene of attacks against Falun Gong practitioners over the last few weeks. Qiu was allegedly witnessed telling two un-identified individuals that he had sent people to distribute anti- Falun Gong materials at two intersections.
John Yu voiced his opinion that Qiu’s actions are not isolated and are connected to the Chinese government and Chinese consulate in New York.
Flushing residents expressed their appreciation of qui’s arrest with a round of applause.
