ZHANG:
A special rabbinic council in Israel condemns the CCP's Falun Gong persecution. The Rabbis concluded that participating in the Olympics hosted by the Chinese regime endangers the harmony of all humanity, due to the inhuman actions of the Chinese regime. Our team in Jerusalem with more.

STORY:
In 2004, the Jewish ancient religious council court named Sanhedrin was re-established. At the beginning of 2007, this independent court based on ancient Jewish laws began its investigation on the persecution of Falun Gong by the Chinese communist regime.

The council invited Falun Gong practitioners from Israel, USA and Australia to give their testimony and consulted with a number of health and law experts.

Officials at the Chinese Embassy in Israel were also invited to present their arguments. However, they did not show up and also tried to interfere with the investigation.

After about one and a half years of thorough investigation in Israel and in other countries, the Rabbis declared these conclusions:

[Rabbi Meir Jaacov Halevy, Judge, Sanhedrin]:
"The court came to a conclusion that the grave phenomenon of killing innocent Falun Gong practitioners does take place also due to considerations for trading their organs."

The council members call the Chinese regime to uphold the ancient prohibition of killing and to respect human life.

[Rabbi Dov Stein, Secretary of the Sanhedrin]:
"We hope that the Chinese regime will pay attention to these words; on the whole we are quite sympathetic toward the Chinese People, and we remember China being a refuge for Jews who escaped during the Holocaust, and we are sorry to hear that a lot of Chinese share the same fate like the Jews [who lived] under the horrifying Anti-Semite, human loathing regime in the times of the Nazis".

The council also advises the Chinese regime to change its wrong reign.

[Rabbi Meir Jaacov Halevy, Judge, Sanhedrin]:
"In my opinion, this indicates a very serious weakness in the Chinese regime. Why? When Falun Gong says that 'we are a kind of Qigong practice, like those practiced everywhere else but with three principles - Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance – in fact this is antithesis for the regime that says 'we are not truthful, we are not compassionate, we are very cruel and we are impatient, and we are very ruthless'. This is their justification for killing these people."

The rabbinic council says it will soon make the English version of the statement available worldwide.
