Cambodian Police Block Star from Genocide Victim Tribute

Cambodian police barred Hollywood actress Mia Farrow and other activists from laying flowers at a "Killing Fields" museum on Sunday. The act was intended as part of a campaign to end atrocities in Sudan's Darfur region.
STORY:
Some 100 baton-wielding and plain-clothed police blocked Farrow from entering the museum, which was once the main torture center for Pol Pot's regime.
Farrow and friends had originally Wanted to light a symbolic Olympic torch in the compound. They were unable to hold a public ceremony, but still tried to visit the museum. But police blocked their path to the entrance.

"This is not a ceremony, this is a private delegation coming together to pay our respects."
Farrow spoke to press about her campaign at a nearby news conference. She has held similar events in Chad, Rwanda, Armenia, Germany and Bosnia.

"We are calling for the security on the ground in Darfur before the next Olympic games in Beijing in August because the killing campaign has continued in Darfur for a full five years. And the international community as once again failed to stop the crimes taking place."
Farrow also presented a flower as a symbolic gesture to the victims of genocide:
