ZHANG:
The element that completes the Holiday Wonders show brings the world’s people together in a final chord. The Divine Performing Arts Orchestra plays as the ribbon that joins the world of the East with the world of the West. Let’s take a look at what some of the musicians have to say.TITLE:
Musicians of Holiday Wonders
[Torsten Trey, English Hornist]:
"It's a magnificent combination of two different tone systems, actually. In the Western hemisphere, we have seven tone music and in China and Asia, there is a Pentatonic system. So both of these systems have a different character, and a different meaning."
[Chia-Chi Ling, Concertmaster]:
"And I really enjoy playing in this orchestra because I feel that I could really promote my own feelings with Chinese and the beauty of traditional Chinese music along with dancers on stage and make it as one to give to the audience."
[Emily Kutolowski, Principal Oboist]:
"We provide I think a really life changing experience in a way to audience members. When they come they just feel there's such a sense of beauty and purity into what we're doing and they come to understand other cultures, the traditional culture of China and ancient traditions and morals. So I think in a way, it's really giving a gift to people. All music gift's a gift to people but at least for me, this one is particularly unique and deep."
